How much does sod installation cost in Central Florida?
Michael Geist's Yard Works installs ProVista, Floratam, Seville and Palmetto St. Augustine at $2.00 per square foot and CitraZoy and Empire Zoysia at $2.15 per square foot. Both prices include removing the old grass and standard grading. Other cultivars are quoted on site, and every other service is priced after a free on-site estimate.

COMAND figures use about 1.5 cubic yards per 1,000 sq ft at $300 per cubic yard installed. We measure on site; you pay for the area we actually install.
What Is Included in the Sod Price?
The per-square-foot price covers the work most companies list as extras.
Removal and grading
We strip the old grass, weeds and roots and grade so the new sod sits level with your existing lawn. Sod laid over old turf roots poorly and often fails.
How we prep soil
Fresh, farm-cut sod
Sod is laid within 24 hours of harvest, so the roots are alive and ready to knit into your soil instead of drying on a pallet.

Our own crew
Michael is on site and the install is done by Yard Works, not a subcontractor. One crew answers for the result from soil prep to final grade.

How much does sod installation cost in Central Florida?

Is removing the old grass included in the sod price?
Yes. Removal of the existing turf and standard grading, so the new sod sits level with the rest of the lawn, are included. Heavier regrading or hauling off excess soil is quoted after an on-site look.
Why are some grass types quoted on site instead of priced?
We publish a flat rate only for the cultivars we install most often: ProVista, Floratam, Seville and Palmetto St. Augustine and CitraZoy and Empire Zoysia. Other St. Augustines, other zoysias and all Bermudas vary in farm availability and cost, so we price them per property.
How much does COMAND compost underlayment add?
COMAND is $300 per cubic yard installed. At 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 inch that is about 0.8, 1.5 and 2.3 cubic yards per 1,000 square feet, or roughly $240, $450 and $690 per 1,000 square feet.
How much does lawn top-dressing cost?
Top-dressing with our sand and compost blend starts at $300 per cubic yard. Straight compost or straight leveling sand is priced on request.
How are irrigation, drainage, landscaping and pavers priced?
These depend on the site, so we price them after a free on-site estimate. Landscape beds are priced from bed size and the plants you choose; irrigation and French drains from the zones, length and obstacles we find.
